After meeting five years ago, the big day for Kathleen and Matt at PAIKKA in St. Paul, MN had finally arrived. It was clear how treasured this day was to the couple.
Their ceremony backdrop was none other than PAIKKA’s “living plant wall.” It was here where they exchanged their vows as well as held their tree planting ceremony while Kathleen’s brother played guitar. Tears and smiles glistened as the two made a lifelong commitment to each other as a close friend of the couple’s (who was also present at their engagement!) served as their officiant. Thus, tying together an experience that was true to who Kathleen and Matt are.
PAIKKA, which is an industrial-modern chic space filled with accents of greenery and mid-century furniture is beautiful on it’s own, so the couple didn’t need to add much more decor! The Mr. and Mrs. simply complimented the space with light lavender, sage, delicate floral and greenery details. Earthy vibes could be also be found throughout the wedding, with seasonal florals from the farmers market for the bride and bridesmaid bouquets. The table centerpieces were adorned with greenery, while the glass candle holders had lavender seeds and jasmine buds inside.
From Kathleen’s sparkly gold Kate Spade bridal tennis shoes to Star Wars themed socks for the groomsmen, the amount of personality infused into their wedding day had to be one of my favorite parts hands down! It didn’t stop there though! To add even more uniqueness, a taco food truck, an ice cream man, and the Northerly Photo Camper were all present!
Kathleen and Matt, it makes my heart so happy that you put your trust in me and looking through these pictures just makes me so happy.

“The men all wore grey pants, white button downs, and beautiful floral ties from DAZI. Our wedding date was May 4th, “May the 4th be with you” in honor of Star Wars. Matt is a big Star Wars fan so decided to give all the groomsmen themed socks to add a little of his own personality to their outfits (since we very decidedly were not going to have a fully Star Wars themed wedding!)” – Kathleen, The Bride
“We had a taco food truck, an ice cream man and the Northerly Photo Camper. Each of these vendors added personal and unique touches to our wedding experience! The Ice Cream Man, Leprechaun’s Dreamcycle, provided individually packaged ice cream treats. Plus, we were able to request our favorites (chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches!) Guests of all ages loved the options. He also made balloon animals for all the children, which was a hit. The Northerly Photo Camper was just so beautiful. It was easy to use and the renovated inside was so inviting and unique. Our guests loved it.” – Kathleen, The Bride
