Timeless Lumber Exchange Wedding in Downtown Minneapolis

Tony and Stephanie’s wedding was the epitome of a classic, downtown Minneapolis wedding. For their early-summer celebration, they chose Lumber Exchange as their reception venue and were married at St. Therese of Deephaven which allowed us to have a variety of backdrops at the church, downtown and also at the docks in Wayzata.

From Tony’s black tux to Stephanie’s beautiful gown, pearls and stunning hair and makeup, the timeless affair was simple and classic. Here’s what bride Stephanie had to say about the day

“We wanted to go for a very classic, traditional look; nothing that was too trendy that would look too dated in a couple of years. Only time will tell if we achieved our goal! We held our ceremony in the church my mother works. Since we are both Catholic, having the ceremony be a religious one held in a church was very important for us.  We picked out the readings and the music to our taste. Our cantor was a fabulous singer, which made the ceremony even more beautiful!”

Stephanie’s advice to future brides:

“For wedding planning I would suggest to not take the whole process too seriously and to remain flexible. There will always be changes and always things that go wrong! I think there is also lot of pressure for everything (including yourself) to be “Instagram perfect” (which I struggled with at times). Always remember point of the day is to marry your person, not to get “likes”! So my advice would be to keep everything in perspective and remember that it’s about friends and family coming together, and the commitment that you’re making! Cheers!”

Stephanie’s Review of Marit Williams Photography:

Marit was honestly one of the best vendors we had for our wedding day! She was so nice and super professional. She really cared about capturing our special day, and I am so glad she did!

BEHIND THE LENS

can i tell you a secret?

DISCOVERING PHOTOGRAPHY WAS A BIT OF A SURPRISE FOR ME

Through college, my early PR career in San Diego, then moving back home to Minnesota to start a family, I’ve always craved a way to blend creativity and entrepreneurship. But it wasn’t until I started taking photos of my own son that something clicked. I had that feeling that can’t be denied.

Almost a decade later, I’ve continued to build my skills through mentorships with some of the best in the business, education and a true love for this calling of mine. Today, I work with both couples and families to create images that capture emotion, detail and movement to preserve a single moment in time.

Photography means you can.

THESE ARE THE MEMORIES YOU’LL LONG TO relive OVER AND OVER.
