Twin Cities Natural Newborn Session | Baby Kai

When the lovely Hyojin asked me to photographer her third baby boy’s newborn session, I was completely honored. Hyojin is a lovely and talented Twin Cities family and newborn photographer and photographing her laid-back family is always a joy. Everyone (including Hyojin’s mom who was in town to meet Kai) were so sweet to him and doted on him throughout our whole session. I made sure to step back and capture each member of their family naturally loving on baby Kai. The light was magical and I was able to do much of the session on medium format film which always makes for a beautiful, organic feel to my newborn sessions. Scroll through to see all the sweetness!

DISCOVERING PHOTOGRAPHY WAS A BIT OF A SURPRISE FOR ME

Through college, my early PR career in San Diego, then moving back home to Minnesota to start a family, I’ve always craved a way to blend creativity and entrepreneurship. But it wasn’t until I started taking photos of my own son that something clicked. I had that feeling that can’t be denied.

Almost a decade later, I’ve continued to build my skills through mentorships with some of the best in the business, education and a true love for this calling of mine. Today, I work with both couples and families to create images that capture emotion, detail and movement to preserve a single moment in time.
