Chelsea and Corey’s Rochester, MN Engagement Session
When Chelsea and Corey asked me to photograph their Mayowood Stone Barn engagement session and wedding I knew it would be nothing short of magic. The couple lives across the country but decided to return to Chelsea’s home state of Minnesota to tie the knot. We snuck their engagement session in while they were in town doing some wedding planning and we picked the most perfect sunny summer day.
Mayowood Stone Barn Sunset
Mayowood Stone Barn’s famous (and giant) tree was the backdrop for the photos along with many of the historical buildings and barns on the grounds. The sunsets at the venue are always epic and certainly didn’t disappoint on this particular day. I love the way it filters through the trees and reflects on the white buildings that are scattered throughout the grounds of Mayowood.
Engagement Session Style
Chelsea and Corey looked so cute and dressed up for their session! They decided on two different outfits for their engagement photos. The first outfit was casual with a blue and white striped dress for Chelsea and a chambray shirt for Corey. After that, they got a little fancier with a pink maxi skirt for Chelsea with a crop top and a dapper neutral suit and jeans for Corey.

I always recommend getting a little more dressed up than you typically would for a date. It’s typically your first time having a full-on photo session together so why not treat yourself. It’s also the perfect excuse to head out for a date afterwards to celebrate!
